PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guidewire effectively usable for a retrograde approach.SOLUTION: The guidewire 10 has a first tip portion 30 and a second tip portion 60 provided at ends of the body portion 20. Flexural stiffnesses of the first tip portion 30 and the second tip portion 60 increase in a continuous or stepwise manner from the respective tips of the first tip portion 30 and the second tip portion 60 toward the body portion 20. The flexural stiffness of the first tip portion 30 is not smaller in value than the flexural stiffness of the second tip portion 60 in first distance ranges L1 from the respective tips of the first tip portion 30 and the second tip portion 60 toward the body portion 20.
