PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gelling agent for an aqueous liquid which can provide an aqueous liquid gel having a shape retainability at room temperature and a high temperature, excellent transparency and storage stability at a low temperature.SOLUTION: A gelling agent for an aqueous liquid (D) includes a polymer (A) and a water soluble transition metal compound (B).
