A harness configured to be worn by the user's body and a leg support device that supports the leg of the user by connecting to the harness, and follows the movement of the leg without substantially interfering with the movement of the user's arm However, systems and methods are provided for assisting one or both legs of a user using a leg support device that is configured to conform to the motion of the legs. The leg support device is coupled with one or more compensation elements that apply a counteracting force that at least partially cancels gravity acting on the leg when the user moves and the leg support device follows the movement of the user's leg.
