PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and accurately align a measurement optical system with the vertex of the cornea of a subjects eye.SOLUTION: Provided is a non-contact tonometer S, comprising: an apparatus main body 4 for irradiating a subjects eye E with infrared light and detecting the infrared light from the subjects eye a support portion 1 for supporting a position of a face HB of the subject and a driving unit 50 for relatively moving the apparatus main body and the support portion. The tonometer is characterized in that the apparatus main body and the support portion are moved relatively to align the apparatus main body with the subjects eye in the XY direction and adjust the apparatus main body in distance with the subjects eye in the Z direction. First alignment is performed in which the subjects eye is irradiated with infrared light such that the cornea of the subjects eye is photographed in more than two different directions substantially at the same time to detect Purkinje images of the subjects eye for alignment of the apparatus main body with the subjects eye.
