PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve element and a medical instrument capable of securely retaining the lubricity of an open/close part even if left for a long time.
SOLUTION: The valve element 7 is set in a connector 1 to be connected to a catheter 30, for example. The valve element 7 has a through hole 72 penetrating the valve element 7. At least the vicinity of the through hole 72 of the valve element is made of a resin material including a polymer with 2-acrylamide-2 methyl propane sulfonic acid as a first monomer component.
