PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To irradiate a laser beam without having an impact on an observation image in an endoscope system in which a laser beam with an arbitrary wave length can be used.SOLUTION: An endoscope system is capable of performing laser treatment using a laser for irradiating a visible laser beam and a laser probe that can be inserted into a forceps channel of a video scope. When a laser treatment mode is set, a saturation pixel is detected and its position coordinates are stored in a memory, and an exposure time t1 shorter than an exposure time t0 set for pixels other than the saturation pixel is set for the saturation pixel.
