A method for mechanically deforming a substrate assembly by bonding or the like is disclosed. The substrate assembly may be advanced at a first speed toward the coupling device. The coupling device may rotate at a second speed less than or equal to the first speed. The coupling device may include a support surface and a process assembly. The substrate assembly may be deflated prior to advancing to the coupling device. The first process assembly may receive the leading portion of the substrate assembly and the subsequent process assembly may accept the following portion. The leading and trailing portions define a production arc length that is less than or equal to the process production pitch. One or more processes may be performed on the substrate assembly.
