The apparatus includes first and second attaching apparatus, and control apparatus. The first and second attaching apparatus connects the apparatus to the first and second bone units respectively. The control apparatus is associated with the first and second attaching apparatus to produce at least two conditions: distraction, compression, static position, and control of range of motion of the at least one of the bones.
