A watering system is incorporated into a hanging basket constituted by an outer container 1, an inner container 2 to hold growing medium, and a support collar 3. The outer container 1 is to act as a water reservoir and has an outer rim 4 forming three lips 5 for the purpose of filling the device from any point surrounding the device. The rim also has three fixing points 6 for connection of the device to chains for hanging purposes. The collar 3 has an angled wall 12 formed with a series of nine portals 13 which are aligned with portals 10 in the inner container 2. These sets of portals 10 and 13 receive peat pots 14 set at an angle. The base of the inner container 2 is formed with suitably sized holes to allow for the absorption of water upwards into the growing medium in the inner container and into the main root growing area of the plants within the hanging basket.
