PURPOSE: Water for boiling rice using mucilage from the stem of cactus, and a producing method thereof are provided to coat the rice with functional components before cooking. CONSTITUTION: A producing method of water for boiling rice using mucilage from the stem of cactus comprises the following steps: mixing 5-95wt% of Opuntia humifusa stem and 95-5wt% of purified water to obtain a mixture； boiling the mixture for 1-2 hours at 55-70 deg C: extracting the mucilage from the heated mixture for 1-2 hours at 65-75 deg C； and filtering the obtained mucilage extract.본 발명은 밥물 및 밥물의 제조방법에 관한 것으로 상세하게는 선인장추출물의 점액질을 이용하여 기호성과 기능성을 고루 갖춘 밥물을 제조하고, 밥이 식어도 윤기와 찰기가 존재할 수 있도록 하는 밥물을 제공하는 것이다.
