The invention is characterized in that the animal position sensor is mounted so as to be movable or shiftable in a longitudinal direction of the animal space. This has the advantage that the range of the sensor becomes considerably larger while the sensor can be the same as in the known device.Linvention porte sur un dispositif de traite automatique dun animal (9) dans un espace pour animaux (1), le dispositif étant muni dun bras robotique (3) destiné à réaliser automatiquement une action sur un trayon de lanimal, dun capteur de trayon (4) et dun capteur de position danimal (5) destiné à déterminer la position de lanimal dans lespace correspondant, le capteur de position danimal pouvant se déplacer dans une direction longitudinale de lespace pour animaux. Linvention est caractérisée en ce que le capteur de position danimal est monté de façon à pouvoir être déplacé ou décalé dans la direction longitudinale de lespace pour animaux. Ceci a pour avantage daugmenter considérablement la portée du capteur, ce dernier pouvant être le même que dans le dispositif connu.
