PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power assist device capable of assisting walking with an appropriate force depending on situations of a road surface, a walking support machine, and a power assist method.SOLUTION: A power assist device includes: inclination sensors 24a and 24b that detect an angle of inclination with respect to a gravity direction of a walking support machine； operation parts 252a and 252b that operate rotation torque of a wheel of the walking support machine generating a force balanced with a force generated by gravity applied to the walking support machine by the inclination； and motor drivers 23a and 23b that make rotation torque generated by motors 22a and 22b interlocking with the wheel.【課題】路面の状況に応じて適切な力で歩行支援を行うことができるパワーアシスト装置、歩行支援機及びパワーアシスト方法を提供する。【解決手段】歩行支援機の重力方向に対する傾きの角度を検出する傾斜センサ２４ａ，２４ｂと、傾きによって歩行支援機に加わる重力による力とつりあう力を発生する歩行支援機の車輪の回転トルクを演算する演算部２５２ａ，２５２ｂと、車輪と連動したモータ２２ａ，２２ｂに回転トルクを発生させるモータドライバ２３ａ，２３ｂとを設けた。【選択図】図２
