PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chlorite ion sustained release composition less in change over aging of fluidity of a composition slurry even with high blend of chlorite, excellent in casting solidification property, less in generation of chlorine dioxide and high in safety and a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: There is provided a chlorite ion sustained release composition which consists of a solidified article containing chlorite, a hardly water soluble salt and water and contains the chlorite of 15 to 60 wt.%, an alkali component of 1 to 10 wt.%, the hardly water soluble salt of 3 to 62 wt.% and water of 12 to 40 w.%.
