It is an object of the present invention to provide a composition of substances suitable for administering liquid menthol in liquid form, particularly suitable for administration of liquid menthol in droplet form. A composition comprising (i) menthol and (ii) a carrier containing digestible edible oil, wherein the digestible edible oil is from a temperature lower than 20 ° C, which is a semi-solid, to 20 ° C. The composition is an oil that provides a composition that becomes liquid at 20 ° C. A preferred edible oil is a medium chain fatty acid triglyceride in the composition to give a menthol application rate of 5-20 mg menthol, and most preferably approximately 10 mg menthol, in a drop of the composition. The oil has a menthol concentration of 1 to 50% by mass. The composition may also contain additional added vitamins and essential oils. A liquid method for administering menthol is provided.
