The present invention relates to new compounds that are effective in treating or preventing Graft-versus-Host disease (GVHD) in a subject. More specifically, the present invention relates to an anti-NKp44 antibody or a fragment thereof for use in a method of treating or preventing GVHD in a subject. The invention also relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising an anti-NKp44 antibody or a fragment thereof for use in a method of treating or preventing GVHD in a subject. The anti-NKp44 antibody or fragment thereof can be administered in combination with other active ingredients which are routinely used for treating or preventing GVHD. The present invention further relates to a kit comprising, as a first component, an anti-NKp44 antibody or a fragment thereof and, as a second component, an immunosuppressant.
