PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an underpants type disposable diaper which has good manufacturing efficiency and is excellent in appearance performance with good appearance.SOLUTION: The dimension in a vertical direction of a back side sheet is formed longer than the dimension in a vertical direction of an abdominal side sheet, one side end part of the outer surface of an interior body is fixed to the inner surface of the back side sheet, the interior body is folded so as to cause inner surfaces to face each other, and the inner surface of the abdominal side sheet is fixed to the other end part of the outer surface of the folded interior body.
