PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article that prevents both side edges of a surface sheet from being peeled or removed when in use, while preventing discomfort or uncomfortable feeling from generated due to a hard portion on a surface in contact with skin.SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 includes: a vertically long body 5 provided with a front surface sheet 2, a rear surface sheet 3 and an absorber 4 and wing parts 6, 6 which extend from both side edges. Each of the wing parts 6 is formed of a wing forming material 62 which is separate from the front surface sheet 2 and the rear surface sheet 3. One side edge of the wing forming material 62 which is located on the side of the body 5 is fixed between the front surface sheet 2 and the rear surface sheet 3. The other side edge extends outward from the side edges 21 and 31 of the front surface sheet 2 and the rear surface sheet 3.
