PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wound covering material capable of retaining a wounded part in a moist state.SOLUTION: The wound covering material includes: a front surface sheet 2 located on a wounded part side of a wearer, allowing a transuding fluid from the wounded part to permeate a rear surface sheet 3 located on the outer surface side opposite from the wounded part side of the wearer and an absorber 4 disposed between the front surface sheet 2 and the rear surface sheet 3, capable of absorbing the transuding fluid permeating the front surface sheet 2. The front surface sheet 2 has a porous sheet 5 to abut to the wounded part and the skin surface of the wearer. An plurality of openings 7 through which the transuding fluid can pass are disposed at positions corresponding to the absorber 4 on the porous sheet 5. The diameter of each opening 7 on the porous sheet 5 is at least 0.3 mm and not more than 1.0 mm.
