The present invention relates to a composition comprising a taheebo fraction or a compound isolated from the taheebo fraction for a prevention or treatment of arthritis. The taheebo fraction is a fraction of taheebo alcohol extract fractionated using ethyl acetate. The taheebo fraction or the compound isolated thereof can be used as a therapeutic agent of arthritis since the composition has a better inhibitory effect for podedema and a removal effect for joint pain than a taheebo water extract, a taheebo alcohol extract, or a fraction fractionated by other solvents.
