The present invention relates to a composition comprising a taheebo fraction or a compound isolated from the taheebo fraction for a prevention or treatment of arthritis. The taheebo fraction is a fraction of taheebo alcohol extract fractionated using ethyl acetate. The taheebo fraction or the compound isolated thereof can be used as a therapeutic agent of arthritis since the composition has a better inhibitory effect for podedema and a removal effect for joint pain than a taheebo water extract, a taheebo alcohol extract, or a fraction fractionated by other solvents. [Reference numerals] (AA) Step of applying low-grade alcohol with first to fourth carbon numbers which is 2-50 times the weight of a taheebo to taheebo at 4-100°;C for 2-10 hours and manufacturing a taheebo alcohol extract by concentrating filtrate in which a solid is removed with pressure reduction; (BB) Step of performing suspension by applying water 2-50 times the weight of a taheebo alcohol extract to the taheebo alcohol extract, performing extraction by applying n-hexane 2-50times the weight of the taheebo alcohol extract to the suspension at 4-100°;C for 2-10 hours, and removing an n-hexane layer of the extract; (CC) Step of performing extraction by applying ethyl acetate 2-50 times the weight of the taheebo alcohol extraction to a residue(water layer) without the n-hexane layer at 4-100°;C for 2-10 hours and separating an ethyl acetate layer of the extract; (DD) Step of concentrating the ethyl acetate layer with pressure reduction본 발명은 타히보 분획물 또는 이로부터 분리된 화합물을 함유하는 관절염의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 상기 타히보 분획물은 타히보 알코올 추출물을 에틸아세테이트를 이용하여 분획한 분획물로서, 상기 타히보 분획물 또는 이로부터 분리된 화합물은, 타히보 물 추출물이나 타히보 알코올 추출물, 또는 다른 용매로 분획한 분획물보다 족부종 억제 효과 및 관절 통증 제거 효과가 뛰어나 관절염 치료제로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
