Dabei werden zunächst nutzerspezifische Körperdaten, wie beispielsweise die Körpergröße und eine Ganzkörperaufnahme, eines Nutzers erfasst. Aus den nutzerspezifischen Körperdaten werden dann solche Körpermaßen des Nutzers ermittelt. Die Körpermaße des Nutzers sind dabei von derselben Art wie die in einem Verstellfeld gespeicherten Körpermaßen einer Vielzahl von Personen eines Standardkollektivs. In dem Verstellfeld sind diese Körpermaße für jede der Personen des Standardkollektivs mit zumindest einem Einstellwert zumindest einer Fahrzeugkomponente verknüpft. Somit wird im erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren ein Einstellwert der Fahrzeugkomponente anhand des Verstellfeldes oder einer von dem Verstellfeld abgeleiteten Verstellfunktion der Fahrzeugkomponente automatisch ermittelt.
