PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel for fishing, enabling easily gripping a fishing rod and a reel body with one hand, and skillfully operating an operation member to adjust a motor output with the thumb of the hand, and having sufficient grip properties even when a large load is suddenly applied during the operation of the operation member.SOLUTION: An operation member 30 of an electric reel for fishing is constituted in a nearly cylindrical shape, is rotatably supported in the front/back direction in a state that the circular arc area of an operation surface is exposed so as to enable a rolling operation in the front/back direction by pressing from above with the cushion part of the thumb of the hand in a state of gripping a reel body together with a fishing rod with one hand to at least one upper part of right and left lateral plates at a rear side from a flange forward end of a spool, a front side from a flange rear end, and a rear side from a control case 15, can continuously increasingly-decreasingly adjust the output of a drive motor in accordance with a rotation operation amount of a rolling operation, and is supported in a state that the operation surface of the exposed circular arc area is projected by 0.5-12 mm to the peripheral surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
