PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel for fishing that facilitates a series of fishing operations in a hand-held state.SOLUTION: An electric reel for fishing includes: a drive motor 8 to rotatingly drive a spool 7 a control case 15 that is disposed in a reel body 5 and includes a control section to control the drive motor an operation member 25 which is disposed at such a position that can be reached by a thumb of a hand holding the reel body together with a fishing rod, and which adjusts output of the drive motor 8 a clutch mechanism that permits free rotation of the spool and a clutch ON switching member 19 that operates to switch the clutch mechanism from an OFF state to an ON state.
