PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel food processing apparatus and food processing method capable of highly accurately and surely inserting foods in a basket of a carrying conveyer when deep-frying the foods such as raw noodles.SOLUTION: This food processing method includes inserting foods in the basket 21 conveyed by the carrying conveyer 20, passing the basket 21 in oil in an oil tub 10 storing heated oil and deep-frying the foods, wherein the basket 21 is conveyed diagonally downward into the heated oil in the oil tub 10, and the foods are inserted into the basket 21 to be slid down toward the downstream side of the conveyance direction from above during the diagonally downward conveyance.
