PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a conventional visual inspection device using a plane type display element that there is a variation in the brightness of a visual target viewed from a subject depending on a display position of the visual target.SOLUTION: A visual inspection device includes a plane type display element 12 having a display surface 12a for displaying a visual target to a subject undergoing visual inspection, and a display optical system 11v provided on an optical axis 18 between an eyeball position where an eyeball 8 of the subject is placed and the display surface 12a of the plane type display element 12.
