PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-propelled seedling transplanter in which a seedling-conveying mechanism 13 for intermittently conveying seedlings one by one, a seedling-planting mechanism 14 for planting the seedlings, transferred by the seedling-conveying mechanism 13, in a field by means of a planting member 14a, and a compacting mechanism 15 for compacting the surface of the field by a compacting body 15e, after the seedlings are planted by the seedling-planting mechanism, are installed in a travel machine frame 4 supported on travel wheels 3, and the direction of which can be easily changed in the state of inclining the travel machine frame backward.SOLUTION: The compacting mechanism 15 is constituted so that the compacting body 15e can be flipped up to be greatly lifted from the field.
