PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal oxide porous thick film that has a spheroidal macropore that can improve diffusion of organic molecules of various sizes that enables a large amount of adsorption to an inside of a thin film of a biologically-relevant molecule, and in which a film thickness is in a range of 250-1,000 nm; and a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A spherical particle generated by adding water to a transparent solution of a high concentration of a polymer system block copolymer is assumed to be a structure directing agent, and is adjusted so as not to cause large shrinkage of a metal oxide in a firing process to manufacture a metal oxide porous thick film in which a diameter of a spheroidal macropore connecting by at least one place is 30-500 nm, and a film thickness is in a range of 250-1,000 nm.
