The present invention provides an enteric soft capsule shell formed from a gel mass composition wherein the gel mass comprises: (a) a film-forming, water soluble polymer which is gelatin (b) an acid-insoluble polymer which is an acrylic methacrylic acid copolymer (c) at least one plasticizer and (c) an aqueous solvent wherein the weight ratio range of acid-insoluble polymer to film forming polymer is from about 30% to about 40%.
