PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To swiftly switch the treatment operation to apply or not to apply hyperthermic stimulation in a chair type massage machine having a built-in treatment mechanism movable in the vertical direction in a backrest to apply the rubbing massage and tapping massage to the back of a treated person with treatment elements mounted at the distal ends of a pair of left and right treatment arms in the treatment mechanism by the oscillation of the treatment arms in the cross direction, forward/backward or in the vertical direction.SOLUTION: The treatment mechanism 24 has a hyperthermic part 51, separate from the treatment elements 23, applying the hyperthermic stimulation to the treated person with a built-in heater, etc. The hyperthermic part 51 is supported in such a way as can be advanced from or retracted into the treatment mechanism by an advancing/retracting mechanism 52. When the hyperthermic part 51 is advanced as indicated in the figure (a), the hyperthermic stimulation is applied to the treated person, and when the hyperthermic part is retracted as indicated in the figure (b), the hyperthermic stimulation is not applied to the treated person.
