A composition and a method for treating a subject after ophthalmic surgery are disclosed. The composition and method comprise administering at least one corticosteroid and its ophthalmically acceptable salt together with a sustained release of at least one corticosteroid or an ophthalmically acceptable salt thereof In an ophthalmically acceptable excipient to be administered to the eye of a subject in need of treatment.
