The invention relates to an orthodontic appliance, in which a rod (4) connects a lower trough (8) associated with the lower jaw with an upper trough (6) associated with the upper jaw of the same patient. This rod comprises in one piece a first portion (10) for attachment to the upper trough and a second portion (14) for attachment to the lower trough, and a central adjustment portion (12) which extends between the two fixing portions and which has a wavy shape.
