PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new elastase activity inhibitor with favorable safety.SOLUTION: The elastase activity inhibitor is characterized by including an effective component of an extract of Angelica archangelica. The elastase inhibitor inhibits degradation of elastin, a constructing component of extra dermal cellular matrix, and is useful for prevention and improvement of skin appearance changes such as decline of skin elasticity, and disappearance, sagging or somberness of skin texture to maintain dermal cellular homeostasis. Besides, the elastase activity inhibitor is also useful for prevention and improvement of clinical conditions such as atherosclerosis and rheumatic arthritis caused by degradation of elastase in an elastin fiber. Furthermore, the elastase may participate in the formation of follicles and the elastase inhibitor is useful for inhibition of hair growth and restoration.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】本発明は、安全性が良好な新規なエラスターゼ活性抑制剤を提供すること。【解決手段】セイヨウトウキの抽出物を有効成分とすることを特徴とするエラスターゼ活性抑制剤である。当該エラスターゼ阻害剤は、真皮細胞外マトリックス構成成分であるエラスチンの分解を抑制し、真皮恒常性を維持するため、皮膚弾力性の低下やキメの消失、たるみやくすみといった皮膚外観変化の防止改善に有用である。また、本発明のエラスターゼ阻害剤は、エラスチン線維のエラスターゼによる分解を原因とするアテローム性動脈硬化、リュウマチ性関節炎等などの病態を予防改善するのにも有用である。さらに、エラスターゼは毛包形成に関与している可能性があるので、本発明のエラスターゼ阻害剤は、発毛及び育毛を抑制するのにも有用である。【選択図】図1
