PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel inhibitor for suppressing collagen degradation caused by the increased activity of human Cathepsin K, particularly myricetin and derivatives thereof as the inhibitor, and also provide use of the novel inhibitor to produce medicines, foods, healthy foods, or cosmetics used for prevention or treatment of pathological symptoms or diseases associated with the collagen degradation caused by the increased activity of human Cathepsin K.SOLUTION: The pathological symptoms and diseases include, but not limited to, arthritis, intervertebral disk damage, osteoporosis, myocarditis, lipid deposition by a metabolic disorder, obesity, hyperlipidemia, arteriosclerosis, and hypertension. The discovery of a new mechanism and a new function of myricetin and derivatives thereof by the inventors can be useful for scientific administration, finding an effective target, prominent therapeutic effect, and human health.【課題】本発明は、ヒトのカテプシンＫ（Ｃａｔｈｅｐｓｉｎ Ｋ）上昇によるコラーゲン分解を抑制する新規抑制剤に関し、特に前記抑制剤はミリセチン （ｍｙｒｉｃｅｔｉｎ）およびその誘導体である。また、本発明は前記新規抑制剤のヒトのカテプシンＫ（Ｃａｔｈｅｐｓｉｎ Ｋ）上昇によるコラーゲン分解に関連する病理症状または疾病の予防または治療に用いる薬剤、食品、健康食品または化粧品の製造用途にも関する。【解決手段】前記病理症状と疾病に関節炎、椎間板損傷、骨粗しょう症、心筋炎、代謝異常による脂質沈着、肥満症、高脂血症、動脈硬化症、高血圧症を含むが、特に限定されていない。発明者のミリセチンおよびその誘導体の新機序と新機能の発見により、科学的投与、的ありの矢放ち、治療効果顕著かつ人類の健康に役立つことができる。【選択図】図９
