PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deformation of a rice ball after being formed.SOLUTION: A rice ball forming device includes: a compression mold 29 for horizontally compressing and forming a boiled rice mass R into a second shape, as a final shape, in which length along a compression direction is shorter than a first shape a molding table 18 in which a plurality of molded holes 22 of the first shape are formed in a circumferential direction a charging unit 23 for charging the boiled rice mass R compressed by the compression mold 29 in a predetermined molded hole 22 a compression mold 19 provided corresponding to the molded holes 22 located on the rotational direction downstream side of the molded table 18 from the molded holes 22 charged with the boiled rice mass R, and compressing the boiled rice mass R in the molded holes 22 in a vertical direction and forming a rice ball and a taking-out mold 20 for taking out the formed rice ball from the molded holes 22.
