PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator capable of achieving power saving.SOLUTION: An ion generator 100 includes: an ion generating part 15 an air outlet 40 a blower fan 3 a battery 7 a switching device 13 and a control unit 60. The battery 7 supplies electric power to the ion generating part 15 and the blower fan 3. The switching device 13 switches the operation mode between a first operation mode and a second operation mode. In the first operation mode, the ion generating part 15 is driven and electric power for blowing wind is supplied from the battery 7 to the blower fan 3. In the second operation mode, the ion generating part 15 is driven and electric power supply from the battery 7 to the blower fan 3 is stopped.
