PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article that exhibits satisfactory absorption performance, in particular, excellent liquid return prevention property even for an excretion liquid having a relatively high viscosity.SOLUTION: An absorbent article comprises a skin side sheet, a non-skin side sheet, and an absorber including an absorbent core 40. The absorbent article has a front part, an excretion part facing part, and a rear part in a longitudinal direction. The skin side sheet is composed of a surface sheet in which a portion overlapping with the absorbent core has a plurality of convex parts 3 projecting to the skin side. The absorbent core 40 has a shape that is long in a longitudinal direction X of the absorbent article. The excretion part facing part has a pair of side areas 45 forming both side parts of the absorbent core 40, a pair of high-density areas 43 located on the center side in a width direction from each side area 45 and extending in the longitudinal direction X, and a central low-density area 42 located between the high-density areas 43.
