To provide a transparent composition which has a ultraviolet light protecting effect while maintaining a high transparency and, when contacted with moisture such as water or sweat, the ultraviolet light protecting effect of which is improved compared with the effect immediately after application. A transparent composition comprising (a) a ultraviolet light absorber, (b) an oily component having a refractive index of 1.5-1.7, (c) an oily component having a refractive index of from 1.3 to 1.5 exclusive, and (d) a powder having a refractive index of 1.45-1.55, wherein the refractive index of an oily component mixture, said mixture comprising the oily component (b) having a refractive index of 1.5-1.7 and the oily component (C) having a refractive index of from 1.3 to 1.5 exclusive, is 1.44-1.56.本發明之課題在於將透明組合物製成於維持較高之透明性之狀態下，具有紫外線防禦效果，並且藉由與水或汗等水分進行接觸而與剛塗抹後相比紫外線防禦效果提高者。 本發明之透明組合物包含： (a)紫外線吸收劑、 (b)折射率為1.5~1.7之油分、 (c)折射率為1.3~未達1.5之油分、及 (d)折射率為1.45~1.55之粉末，且 (b)折射率為1.5~1.7之油分及(C)折射率為1.3~未達1.5之油分之混合油分之折射率為1.44~1.56。
