PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition exhibiting excellent herbicidal effect against annual and perennial weeds in paddy field, without lowering the excellent herbicidal effect of a herbicidal compound uses as a component, and giving no phytotoxicity to paddy rice plant, by adding gymron to a specific compound and using the mixture as the active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective herbicide composition contains (A) 2-[(4,6- dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)aminocarbonyl-aminosulfonyl-methyl]benzoic acid methyl ester of formula I which is a known herbicidal compound exhibiting excellent herbicidal activity at a low rate of application but giving phytotoxicity to paddy rice plant and (B) dymron [1-(alpha,alpha-dimethylbenzoyl)-3-(p-tolyl)urea] of formula II which is a known herbicidal compound. The weight ratio of A:B is 1:(0.1-50). The phytotoxicity to the transplanted rice plant can be essentially completely prevented by applying the agent to the surface of the paddy field at a time from 3 days before transplantation of the seedling of rice plant to the paddy field to 15 days after the transplantation.
