PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which sufficiently suppresses a leakage of excrement.
SOLUTION: A disposable diaper 10 is equipped with a liquid-permeable top sheet 20, a liquid-impermeable back sheet, and a liquid absorbing and retaining absorber 40 interposed between the top sheet 20 and the back sheet. Further, the disposable diaper 10 is equipped with an upper surface sheet 50 having one end 51 connected to the side of a front end 21 rather than to the center in the longitudinal direction of the top sheet 20 and the other end 52 connected in the neighborhood of a rear end 22 in the longitudinal direction of the top sheet 20. The upper surface sheet 50 has a bending resistance equal to or less than 120 mm in the direction where the upper surface sheet 50 is arranged in the lateral direction of the top sheet 20 when measured by a cantilever A method described in JIS L 1096.
