An absorbent article includes a liquid-permeable top sheet configured to be arranged on a skin side, a liquid-impermeable back sheet configured to be arranged on a clothing side； a liquid-retaining absorbent body arranged between the top sheet and the back sheet； a first sheet arranged between the top sheet and the absorbent body and within the area in which the absorbent body is arranged； and a second sheet arranged between the first sheet and the absorbent body. The first sheet is liquid permeable and has liquid-retaining properties. The second sheet is liquid permeable but does not have liquid-retaining properties and hides the red color of menstrual blood absorbed by the absorbent body.
