An endoscope system is disclosed. The endoscope system comprises: an endoscope hand piece which includes an optical guide tube, an image sensor for obtaining an image of an inner portion of an object, which is transmitted through the optical guide tube, a handle unit, and a light emitting diode (LED) light source which provides light into the object through the optical guide tube a main body which includes a process unit for processing the image delivered from the image sensor inside a cradle which is installed on one side of an outer surface of the main body and allows the endoscope hand piece to be stored thereon, through the insertion of the handle unit and a hand piece storage-sensitive light source on/off switch unit which cuts off power supplied to the LED light source, when the endoscope hand piece is stored on the cradle. The on/off switch unit includes a magnet, which is installed on the cradle, and a lead switch which is installed inside the handle unit. The lead switch turns off the LED light source, when a distance to the magnet is smaller than or equal to a set distance, or turns on the LED light source, when the distance to the magnet is greater than the set distance.
