A composition for increasing the bioavailability of drugs in humans and animals comprising a microemulsion further comprising a first emulsifier, a second emulsifier, and an oil wherein the emulsifiers have individual HLB values of between about 10 and about 30, are in a ratio ranging from about 1 : 1 to about 4: 1 and, the first and second emulsifier combination and oil are in a ratio of about 99: 1 to about 9: 1.
