A light source apparatus 3 includes: a light source unit 13 including a plurality of LEDs arranged therein, the plurality of LEDs each emitting illuminating light in a same wavelength band； an optical system 14 that guides the light emitted from the light source unit 13 to a proximal end-side input end of a light guide 4 in an endoscope 2； and an LED control section 12 that, based on endoscope information from an endoscope information storing section 5, divides the plurality of LEDs in the light source unit 13 into an LED 22 as a first light source group, light from which enters a vicinity of an optical axis of the input end, and LEDs 23 as a second light source group in a periphery of the LED 22 as the first light source group, and performs control to decrease an output of the LEDs 23 as the second light source group to be lower than an output of the LED 22 as the first light source group.
