PURPOSE: Provided is an oral pharmaceutical dosage form not susceptible to abuse by mucosal membrane administration providing a plasma concentration that does not exceed the therapeutic concentration. CONSTITUTION: An oral pharmaceutical dosage form is not susceptible to abuse by mucosal membrane administration providing a plasma concentration that does not exceed the therapeutic concentration; by respiratory mucosal membrane administration providing a plasma concentration that does not exceed the therapeutic concentration; mastication providing a plasma concentration that does not exceed the therapeutic concentration; and injection of an illicit extract of the oral dosage form providing a plasma concentration that does not exceed the therapeutic concentration.
