PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide termite repellent granules, which, even in their granular form, can prevent termites from passing through a granule layer. SOLUTION: Carriers such as steamed wood granules or granulated steamed wood powder (steamed sawdust) are impregnated with a termite repellent agent, and used as the termite repellent granules. The steamed wood is obtained by applying pressurized vapor to the wood under a condition of, for example, a temperature of 90-200 deg.C and a pressure of 0.1-1.5 MPa. Alternatively, the steamed wood can also be obtained by first applying vapor to the wood under a condition of a temperature of 80-99 deg.C and a normal pressure, and drying the wood at a temperature of 100-150 deg.C. Sapwood may be used as the steamed wood, and quick-acting pesticides can be used as the termite repellent agent.
