An assistance method used for an assistance system that assists a caregiver who gives care to a monitored person. The assistance system includes: a central processing unit that saves a care record； and a terminal device including an imaging unit that photographs an image, a display unit that displays the photographed image, and an input unit that inputs the care record, and communicably connected to the central processing unit. The assistance method includes: an imaging step of activating the imaging unit and photographing a care related image； a save selection screen display step of displaying, after photographing of the care related image, the photographed care related image and a save selection screen that prompts selection of whether to save the care related image in the central processing unit, on the display unit； an image transmission step of transmitting the care related image from the terminal device to the central processing unit after selection of saving of the care related image in the central processing unit； and a save-to-device step of saving the care related image as the care record in the central processing unit after transmission of the care related image.
