PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin cleansing composition which is excellent in foaming or a feeling of thickness and viscosity of foam when cleansing, is excellent in smoothness and a stop feeling when rinsing, has no feeling of remaining after rinsing, and can give a moist feeling.SOLUTION: The invention provides a skin cleansing composition containing: (A) 1-8 mass% of alkyl ether carboxylic acid or a salt thereof represented by a general formula (1) in which the average carbon numbers of R1 is 10.8-12.8, 4.3-30 mass% of the component of n=0 is contained, the component of n=1 and the component of n=2 are contained in total amount of less than 40 mass% (B) 8-16 mass% of alkyl or alkenyl carboxylic acid with carbon number 9-21 (C) 0.5-7 mass% of an amphoteric surfactant (D1) cationized polymer nonionic gums and denatured nonionic cellulose.
