PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nontempered type hard butter composition, superior in melt-in-the mouth sensation, and having high compatibility with cacao fat, and to provide chocolate having snap properties, despite its having soft taste and being suppressed in flavor deterioration.

SOLUTION: This nontempered type hard butter composition contains 0.1 mass% or lower of triglyceride which contains both 16C or higher trans fatty acid, and 14C or lower saturated fatty acid, and contains in the constituent fatty acid constitution, 8-35 mass% of 16C or higher trans fatty acid and 5-45 mass% of 14C or lower saturated fatty acid.
