The invention concerns a device for non invasive monitoring of the concentration of a constituent of a human or animal bloodstream. In the preferred example the device comprises drive circuitry (50) for provision of an alternating current at a microwave frequency. This frequency is adjustable. The drive circuitry may for example comprise a voltage controlled oscillator. The device has a sensor (19) adapted to be placed in proximity to the body of the human or animal, the sensor being electrically connected to said drive circuitry to receive said alternating current and being adapted to project microwave energy into the said body. Detector circuitry is provided for detecting a signal transmitted and/or reflected by the sensor, the detected signal properties being dependent on the concentration of the said blood constituent.La présente invention concerne un dispositif de surveillance non invasive de la concentration dun constituant du courant sanguin humain ou animal. Dans lexemple préféré de linvention, le dispositif comprend une circuiterie dentraînement (50) destinée à fournir un courant alternatif à une hyperfréquence. Cette fréquence est réglable. La circuiterie dentraînement peut par exemple comprendre un oscillateur à tension de commande. Le dispositif est doté dun capteur (19) conçu pour être placé à proximité du corps humain ou animal, le capteur étant électriquement relié à ladite circuiterie dentraînement pour recevoir ledit courant alternatif et étant conçu pour projeter de lénergie à micro-ondes dans ledit corps. Une circuiterie de détecteur est prévue pour permettre la détection dun signal transmis et/ou réfléchi par le capteur, les propriétés du signal détecté étant dépendantes de la concentration dudit constituant sanguin.
