PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing an underpants type disposable diaper which facilitates peeling of a joining part of a side seal part in taking off the diaper for enhancing feeling during the use as a whole, and increases manufacturing efficiency because of easy maintenance in manufacturing.SOLUTION: An apparatus for manufacturing an underpants type disposable diaper 1 disclosed in the invention includes an anvil 71 driving to rotate and a press member 72 arranged to face the anvil 71. The anvil 71 has a block 74 which has two rows of seal projecting part groups 73G, in which seal projecting parts 73 that extend in parallel to a conveying direction (I direction) and correspond to seal parts 17 of the diaper 1 are arranged in a rotation axis direction (Z direction) at the same pitch, in the conveying direction (I direction) on an outer peripheral surface. The seal projecting parts 73 of the two rows of the seal projecting part groups 73G have different phases from each other in the rotation axis direction (Z direction).
