PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire capable of preventing a coating layer from being peeled off at the intersection part of a first linear part and a second linear part and clearly viewing the first linear part and the second linear part during a guide wire operation.SOLUTION: A guide wire 1 includes: a wire body 2 having a linear core wire 3 configured from a flexible metal material, and a coating layer 7 having at least one layer configured from a resin material, covering at least a part of the outer periphery of the core wire 3 and a marker 12 disposed between the core wire 3 and the coating layer 7, and having a function of indicating the position of the wire body inside a living body. The marker 12 is configured such that a first linear part 121 and a second linear part 121 are crossed with each other at a plurality of parts, and one of the first linear part 121 and the second linear part 121 is piled up on the other at an intersection part 123.
